Day 1
Day 2
The ISF Workshop is structured to synthesise the current state of understanding and predictive capability with regard to critical scientific and engineering challenges in our target applications of sooting flames with alternative fuels, methane pyrolysis and wild-land urban interface fires, while also aligning these with current industrial needs and emerging research opportunities. The alignment of research to industrial application is addressed both through industrial keynote lectures and the contributions of our industrial Scientific Committee members. The synthesis of current progress against the critical challenges is led by the Program Leaders. listed below, who coordinate activities from the research community in their respective fields. The Workshop provides structured time for open discussion to addressing progress against research challenges, facilitated by the committees, seeking to refine current understanding of the state of the art in developing predictive capability in these challenging environments.
Informal discussions are also facilitated through the poster session, in which all delegates are invited to participate (see Website for details).
Participants at ISF-5 will also be invited to submit papers to a special issue in Applications in Energy and Combustion Science through a process to be led by guest editors, Dr Mario Commodo, Prof. Hope Michelsen and Prof. Bassam Dally.
