Dear ISF Workshop Delegate:

Welcome to the International Sooting Flames (ISF) Workshop discussion board!

The ISF Workshop Organizing Committee has established this venue of discussion in order to enable the exchange of ideas on topics related to the Workshop. We welcome and encourage your contributions.

The ISF Workshop discussion board is accessible at http://www.isfworkshop.org/forums/. Registration is required in order to post. Guest users may read posts and browse the forums, but cannot post topics or replies and do not have access to the profiles of the registered users.

=== Overview of the discussion board ===

The discussion board is organized around three categories, which are accessible from the Board index. Each of these categories hosts forums where you may post.

(a) General
- Announcements
- ISF Workshop
- Job opportunities

(b) Flames
- Laminar flames
- Turbulent flames
- Pressurised flames & sprays

(c) Chemistry, Physics & Modeling
- Chemistry of soot precursors
- Physical processes
- Models and numerical approaches

The forums under "General" (a) are meant to provide a place to discuss various logistical aspects of the Workshop. In addition, there is a forum where you may post job opportunities.

The forums under "Flames" (b) are meant to host topics related to measurements and simulations specific to a flame, whether it's a ISF target flame, or a flame that you wish to bring to the attention of the ISF community.

Finally, the forums under "Chemistry, Physics & Modeling" (c) contain topics of broad interest and relevance to soot research that are not specific to any flame in particular.

=== Some pieces of information worth keeping in mind ===

* The main ISF online presence is the ISF website at http://www.adelaide.edu.au/cet/isfworkshop/, where all relevant information on future workshops, logistics, target flames, and associated data sets is located.

* Announcements posted on the ISF website will be re-posted on the ISF discussion board to enhance visibility and encourage feedback from the Workshop delegates.

* The discussion board allows to send emails to all registered users, so it is important that users register with an email address they use and check regularly. The website is secure and your email is not shared with anonymous guests. You may change your email address in your user profile.

* Basic information on the practical aspects of using the discussion board is available at faq.php

* If you are new to using a discussion board and forums, this page contains useful tips on "forum posting etiquette" http://forum-services-review.toptenrevi ... tips.html/

In particular three pieces of advice stand out:

- Read the forums rules and guidelines before posting for the first time
- Search the other posts to see if your topic is already covered
- Use a meaningful title for your thread

* For any issues related to access to http://www.isfworkshop.org/forums/, you may contact the ISF Workshop website administrator at isfwsadm@gmail.com
